First thing to note is that this resort is slowly being renovated. The common areas and the restaurant are new, and as of May 2024, a handful of rooms are renovated. Your experience will differ significantly if you are in a new vs old room. This place has mixed reviews so I was worried going into it. I was first put into an old room and it was pretty underwhelming. The layout is odd and the fixtures and furniture are pretty worn and dated. There was loud construction happening in the room immediately next door, so we asked to move. We were offered the chance to pay a small upgrade charge to move into a "modern" room. The difference was night and day. The new room was well laid out (e.g., good access to outlets and storage), very comfortable, looked really nice, and the furniture and fixtures were all new and modern. The catch is it's hard to know whether you're getting a new or old room -- they are listed separately on different sites and I'm not sure that Booking has them delineated. As a side note, their restaurant reopened the week we arrived after a very long time of being closed. The new restaurant was genuinely excellent. We ended up eating there for two dinners and a breakfast during our week-long trip, and we were impressed with basically everything we had. It's a bit pricey now, however. Overall, it's my impression that this used to be just an "ok" place that is slowly trying to turn itself into an upscale resort. So far they seem to be doing that very well.

The property was beautiful. In Estes Park, you will find it is where the majestic Rocky Mountains served as a breathtaking backdrop. Each morning, I woke up to the crisp mountain air and the stunning view of snow-capped peaks. The serene atmosphere was perfect for relaxation, and I enjoyed leisurely walks along the trails, exploring the natural beauty surrounding the area. In the evenings, I would sit by the cozy fire by the Ember Restaurant, play games and sharing stories with fellow travelers. The sense of community and the warmth of the people I met made the experience unforgettable, and I left with a heart full of cherished memories and a newfound appreciation for the wonders of nature.

The staff was so nice! I got my partner and I a stay there for a couple of nights for his birthday. We had a beautiful view of the lake, which was a pretty decent price! We also went on our trip during the off season. They left cute little chocolate covered strawberries with a happy birthday card. The Dunraven restaurant inside the hotel does room service. The pancakes, I'm not kidding, or exaggerating, were the most incredible pancakes I've ever had in my entire life. I highly recommend getting some! The staff went above and beyond to help make my partners birthday special, and I'm so thankful for that. Seriously one of the best places in Estes Park to stay for a getaway!

Estes is home away from home. We're natives. We have spoken with the staff & they all have been so kind & friendly. And attentive. I say this bc we are Vegan. As vegans, there are almost always discussions/chats with staff. They have been fantastic and the communications PRIOR TO OUR ARRIVIAL, made me more excited to stay bc I knew what I could eat & didn't have to go through the whole Vegan thing.

The room was nice. Large enough, and had a chair and a loveseat, which was also nice. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The coffee service and fridge were nice too. Loved the resort, and the many places to sit and visit. The firepits were a huge hit with the group, and we sat there until it got too chilly. We were there for a wedding, so lots of conversations going on.
